Rod Thomas is a singer/songwriter who grew up between two villages in the South Wales valleys with not much else to do but learn how to play a number of instruments and start to write his own songs. He set up his own label Self Raising Records last year and put out his first 7" 'Good Coat' which had lots of nice things said about it as well as being awarded 'Single of the Week' by Music Towers, 7digital and "what's hot" on iTunes.
In the last few months he's played all over the place, alongside Mr Hudson & The Library, Peter & The Wolf, good friend and musical genius Bass Clef, The Tiny, Clem Snide and Meligrove Band and has had encouraging words from Iain Archer, Beth Hirsch, Emiliana Torrini and Mara Carlyle - some of his favourite artists.
He plays live with childhood instruments, a loop pedal, a synth and handclaps, and makes music often descibed as "acoustic disco" to make people dance, smile, laugh and occasionally think a little bit.
