    Roots Manuva Live At The Shepherds Bush Empire

    On Saturday 18th October at Shepherd's Bush Empire the good people Roots Manuva and Concert Live will be doing their thing. What, you may be wondering, is that thing? Well, Roots Manuva and his band of merry musicians will be making beautiful music. And Concert Live will be recording the concert with love and care, burning it onto CDs, packaging it in nice CD cases with special art and selling it to you on your way out the door.

    In fact, even if you're not going to be there you can buy the CD - not like that, just like that. I'm not even making any sense but what I'm trying to say is that you can get it ONLINE. From their WEBSHOP. Either before or after the date - although obviously if you get it before you won't actually get it till after.

    Anyway, it's the future (or the past, depending on whether you buy it before or after the actual gig, natch) and it's happening NOW. Click.

    Slime & Reason In The Shops!

     

    As you probably are only too well aware by now, Roots Manuva's new album, "Slime & Reason" came out this week. As a result we have a few bits of news to give you.

    First up, the 2CD limited edition of the album (in glorious pink) has proved to be a bit of a hit. Featuring a second "Slime & Version" CD from Wrong Tom and full of reggae versions and dub loveliness, apparently shops are beginning to run out (and we only have a handful left in the warehouse ourselves). So if you fancy getting hold of one, we would recommend hitting your local music emporium (or the internet) today or tomorrow. You don't have to heed this advice, but don't blame us if you don't...

    Second up, we've just posted a new Roots video on YouTube. It's for third single (and stand-out track) "Let The Spirit," was once again directed by Alastair Siddons and is very different in tone to the previous two. Check it here.

    Third up, Rodney & co are playing Bestival this Saturday night, so if you're sheltering from the rain on the Isle of Wight this weekend, well, your fancy dress will be soaked but your heart will be warmed...

    Zane Lowe Session

    Tonight Roots Manuva's Zane Lowe session will be aired on Radio 1 from 7pm. He'll be playing a selection of tracks from his forthcoming album 'Slime & Reason' released on the 1st September. If you miss it fret not we'll post the listen again link in the morning.

    Roots @ Carnival




    Not only is this Notting Hill Carnival weekend, it's all the bank holiday Monday that will see the release of Roots Manuva's new single 'Again and Again.' The song couldn't be a more perfect anthem for the (hopefully) sunny carnival antics. The good news is you can hear the song played live, loud and in all it's wonk-reggae, sun-drenched glory on Carnival Sunday, for Roots will be in town.

    Roots Manuva On Your TV


    This Friday and Saturday you can see Roots Manuva performing the new single "Again & Again" on Channel 4. Part of the T Mobile Transmission show it will be aired at the following times. TX Friday 25/07 at 12.10 - 1.10am and T4 will repeat the show on Saturday morning 26/07.
