Rosewood is a five piece rock/pop band with hints of an aggressive folk influence. Formed in March 2007.
Brothers Ben and Jared Picker spent their childhood playing music together, encouraged by a mother who was a music teacher and who cultivated an environment of creativity in the household. A tightness both musically and mentally developed between the two that cannot be broken.
The brothers found themselves reunited later in life at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Ben studying music/music technology and Jared graphic arts. It was here they decided to pursue the idea of creating a band.
They met up with Robert Hammond, a folk-inspired guitarist and songwriter, who added a relaxing edge to the band.
Also joining was Brandon Ives, who has deep family history of classically trained musicians, himself a classical guitar player turned bassist.
Aaron “Hoss” Heise gave the band some personality and musical flavor, with his equally matched wit and brain power, in addition to his affinity for vintage keyboards and the blues.
Musical influences include Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Low Millions, and The Barenaked Ladies.
Rosewood’s mission is to write songs with meaningful lyrics, both introspective and outward looking, while also keeping the music itself interesting. And to rock.
