Nov 04, 02:27 PMRusted Root Halloween CostumesAs many of you now know, we had some fun on Halloween - here's how it all went down.
Dressing up as characters from the Wizard of Oz was originally colter's idea. he wanted to be the wicked witch of stage left... ha.so i've been hitting up costume and vintage shops this whole tour trying to find costumes for everybody. little did we know it was the 70th anniversary of the wizard of oz, so the costumes were mostly sold out. no lions, no tin men to be found anywhere. so the day before i took the bus to joanne's fabrics to complete the mission. stayed up all night sewing, which is a rare thing. not staying up all night, sewing. although i should do it more often because it's so much fun to make stuff (with all my extra time :-)
Colter helped a lot, but he only made it to 3 am, lightweight...
so the day of the fillmore show my friend Saeeda and I were supposed to get dinner and hang out but i had so much to finish, so i roped her into helping me finish the costumes. that's her in the lion ears in case you were wondering. she's so great. it totally wouldn't have been finished if it weren't for her helping.
fun fun fun...
Here's a BUNCH of pictures for your enjoyment

Sep 16, 03:14 PMLooking for our Asbury Park Show Artist
So this very cool guy came out to our show on 9/12 at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. He created this AMAZING piece of art during our show, using our music for inspiration. He had his easel all set up, and showed it to us after the show! We failed to get his contact information after the show, and we really want to talk to him more about it! If anyone knows who he is, or he's out there reading this - please reach out to our management office. Alana Mulford can be reached at alana@doylekos.com.

Jul 27, 10:30 AMBlog - Michael Glabicki - 7/26/09
After flying into Denver we were heading up through the rockies towards Breckenridge and pulled over for food. After several attempts we found a fantastic german restaurant called Genesee Town Cafe- owned by Hanna and Wolfgang Neitze. It was the exact kind of dining experience we look for on the road- homemade food and great company. We ended up sitting and talking with them for a while about their home in Germany, how they met, German food etc..... Hanna was the kind of woman who (like my Grandmother) would not let you leave until you were so full that you were unable to leave. Although we did make it out of there, we were 45 minutes late for our radio interview at KZNV in Breckinridge. Luckily everyone at the station was very chill and it turned out to be a great Interview. Inspired by the day I asked them if we could do a surprise show in Breckenridge that night since we had the day off. It worked out great because they were having an event at the town bowling alley that night. We hit the jackpot!! We had never played a bowling alley before. We went to work- setting up the local sound system and trying to get it to work without blowing up and the radio station KZNV started announcing the show. By the end of sound check around 30 people had already showed up. We left to get dinner and when we came back the place was full with 300 people. My immediate thought was "uh-oh....what have we done" but it turned to be an awesome time. Lots of kids where dancing and someone brought us all strange looking sunglasses to perform in. Preach played a rippin dgembe solo. My only regret was that we didn't get to bowl that night because we had to take off towards Telluride.....next time. -
Jul 22, 12:29 PM7/16: Blog Entry - Patrick from GrassrootsI dont know if this is really a blog or just a random thought but, Here I am at the grassroots festival in trumansburgh ny. Listening to some great musicianship in the dancehall tent. It always amazes me at how many fantastic musicians there are out there. Many of them accountants farmers, electricians, ect.. And it just got me thinking of how imbedded music is in our society. It is truely one of the great unifiers of our culture.
I do not think I have known a day without music in it.
I love having music in my life
Patrick
