SKIP-DAWG is the real thing – facing immense physical struggles and overcoming them with hope, tenacity and fire. A very talented and well known inspirational Philadelphia rapper, he was a top college athlete (known as Dann Furia) who graduated from Princeton University at the young age of 20. But in 2005, he underwent two major lung surgeries to repair a genetic condition that caused his lungs to collapse! Amazingly, he bounced back.
A 2008 performance captured the attention of Interscope Records’ mega-producer Beatgods, who then executive produced Skip-Dawg’s fourth album “We Will Rise”. The title track “We Will Rise” was written by Skip-Dawg as a tribute to his former teammate, World Record holder and Olympic Gold Medalist, Brendan Hansen. Within 48 hours of its release, the “We Will Rise” music video was already featured by Youtube sports, Zimbio Online Magazine (5 million unique visitors per month), Swimming World Magazine, Olympic News London.co.uk and more.
Skip-Dawg also recently starred as the rapper in a national commercial for Windstream Communications and was featured as one of Philadelphia’s “Hottest Singles in the Suburbs” by Main Line Today Magazine. Skip-Dawg’s popular song “Skip To The Floor” is currently in rotation on BigFm, Germany’s most popular FM radio station, syndicated in 24 cities throughout the country.
