Nov 06, 04:50 PMSam's Soapbox #4 - Social Classes, Elites and the MassesI want to talk about social classes, elites and the masses
Genocides and dictators given free passes
By fascists who have this whole world in their grasp
Another day in Kazakhstan, just like the past isI don't want to get all up in your face like a burqa with lace in your eyes
But the race issue's still here, corruption and lies
Make the world go 'round, and with the sound
Of an AK and air raids they say their goodbyesI'm not a king, not a nobleman high on my horse
But of course it was those guys who conquered
By forcing the war scene on states where they'd foreseen
An African cake, from Cairo to the CapeWhat to suggest as the best course of protest
For all this distress and the mess we've caressed
With our credit card debt, it's the way we've progressed
Is it really? Come on, give it a restIt's this progress that got us entrenched in this mess
We think we know what's best for the rest of these "guests"
In our world, I don't know, but it's time we confessed. -
Sep 21, 05:36 AMSam's Soapbox #3 - Voting for ChangeThere's the smell of another election in the air, so I'm talking about voting. How do I use my vote to its full potential in our "representative" democracy that doesn't seem to do a very good job at representing the majority of voters? What kind of change can I create with my vote?
