Described by the Enquirer as one of Cincinnati's "four must-see acts", Screaming Mimes delivers a unique brand of pop rock with infectious melodies, driving rhythms, heart on the sleeve & tongue in cheek lyrics. Formed in the Spring of 2002, the Mimes have been performing all over the Tri-State winning more fans at each performance. Their first full-length CD, Live My Life, featured 14 of their best tracks culled from over 30 original compositions. Their second disc "Tragedy Comic" contains the best examples of Cincinnati power pop. Screaming Mimes have performed at 4 consecutive MidPoint Music Festivals, Earth Day concerts, RedsFests, and in front of crowds as large as 30,000. Citybeat declares Screaming Mimes "Power Pop with a brain and a sense of humor" and compares their material to the works of pyschodots and Roger Klug. Comprised of David Storm (guitar, vocals), Preston Price (bass, vocals), Randy Campbell (guitar, vocals) & Jim Farmer (drums), Screaming Mimes plan on taking their music to as many people as possible. Based on the response so far the world is ready for them. "The band's current demo CD (which, production-wise, sounds better than many "official" local band CDs) shows the Mimes to be an already fully-developed entity, with Power Pop songs that are comparable to the works of local champions pyschodots or Roger Klug, replete with a madcap sense of wit (as one could derive from the band's name) and ear-tugging melody hooks." Mike Breen / Citybeat 6-18-03 "This is great pop-rock in a city known for great pop-rock - the Raisins, the Bears, psychodots, Roger Klug, Simpletons. But what makes the Mimes special is that, along with Storm's infectiously catchy songwriting the group combines the energy of a new band (which it is) with the skill and finesse of mature musicians. It makes for exciting, intelligent rock 'n' roll." Larry Nager/Cincinnati Enquirer 11-14-03 “WNKU doesn’t play local artists because they are local artists… we play their music because it’s good and stands up next to everything else we play. Screaming Mimes has become a favorite with listeners and staff." Michael Grayson, Music Director, WNKU, Cincinnati 11-20-04 "Their music sounds familiar, like classic rock, but quirky and new. It's reminiscent of The Beatles, Joe Jackson, XTC, Elvis Costello and others. Catchy pop rock tunes. Clever, like their name." Mikey Foellger/Inside Northern Kentucky June 2004 "Power Pop with a brain and a sense of humor (note their name) is the Mimes' calling card. A killer guitar is arc-welded to Dave Storm's playful, thoughtful lyrics, while a powerful rhythm section merrily bangs away. If Alaskan Huskies played music, they'd sound like the Screaming Mimes -- and that's a compliment." Dale Johnson/Citybeat 9-23-04
