Shadowfax began in a farmhouse in Crete, IL, in 1972 with founding members Chuck Greenberg, Phil Maggini, G. E. Stinson, and Stu Nevitt. The first band on Windham Hill Records, Shadowfax went on to win a Grammy for Folksongs for a Nuclear Village, released by Capitol Records. Shadowfax stopped performing in 1995 following the death of Greenberg.

Shadowfax is quite an obscure group, but I love them! The percussion and the lyricon make the music seem otherworldly. Fantastic.
