What can I say about these guys that hasnt already been said since they started out just a few short years ago here in my hometown of Edmonton? I first saw them play a free show at the Free Masons Hall Downtown. There were probably about 30 or 40 people there in all. I had mixed expectations, having only recently started to like techno music and only having the word of my cousin "they're like dance rock, its wicked," who had seen one of their very first shows. I first saw them play a free show at the Free Masons Hall Downtown. There were probably about 30 or 40 people there in all. I had mixed expectations, having only recently started to like techno music and only having the word of my cousin "they're like dance rock, its wicked," who had seen one of their very first shows. But little did I know that I would never forget that night. My cousin was right, a dance party broke out. I'm pretty sure the guys played all the tunes they had at the time, while we in the small crowd had an awesome time that I doubt any of us will forget... Fast forward in time to January 1st 2007 Edmonton's Citadel Theatre. I got my ticket for the New Year's Show in the second run of tickets that were sold. The way they had it set up as more tickets were sold the price would go up through the increments of sales. I recall for the priice I paid it was something like 75 bucks after the first 1000 people. Well all in all by the end of the night I heard there was something like 2000 people there. A fantastic time needless to say. The show was set up in the entrance area of the Citadel, where the bridge crosses to the entrance to the actual theatre itself, the main stage was there. Then up the stairs behind this stage you could go to the second stage in the ampitheatre. I remember the guys missed the countdown, and did a late one. Nobody cared because it was such a wicked party. And by around 1 am it seemed as though everyone was messed up on something, drugs or alcohol, or both, the poison of their choice. I like to make the comparison between these guys and The Sex Pistols. Only about 30 people showed up to their first shows, but look what happened? Okey so their Shout Out Out Out Out isnt exactly a group of angry and loud young punks from merry old england who would end up being huge part of what would define punk forever, but they are a group of funky and cool Edmontonian Guys who are trying to make their mark on probably not only the canadian but global music scene while keeping the groovey tunes and dance parties going!
