Showbread is a band of musicians based near Savannah, GA. Stared as a church praise band in 1997, the band named itself after the consecrated holy bread kept in the holy temples in biblical times. The band was rejected by it's home church months after the project's conception due to a belief that contemporary music is evil. Showbread disbanded and reformed with new members and decided to pursue thier music more seriously and exclusively. The decision to keep the name Showbread was derived from an analogy Jesus used to illustrate a lack of importance with traditionalism. We began writing in the vein of our own musical tastes and booking shows for ourselves in the Savannah area. After two years of playing melodic punk throughout the southeast, Showbread has evolved into a dark hardcore band.

Shocking crowds with a fiery stage show that features blood and flame spitting, burning instruments, and symbolic theatrics including bound members being carried off stage in an actual coffin. Showbread has won trophies and polls for thier intense stage show and blazing hardcore.

Influenced by the music and politics of Refused, the anthems and imagery of AFI and the Misfits, and the lyrics and darkness of the late Ninety Pound Wuss, Showbread brings a unique and broad spectrum of screeching and thunderous hardcore, dark post- punk, sorrowful emo melodies and insane speeds.
