SIENNA is a freestyle electronica-club-jazz artist from Japan who is based in Norway. She is a componist, keyboardist & vocalist who was discovered by ABON - a genuine multi-talent and a long-time collaborator of Norwegian guitar maestro RONNI LE TEKRO (TNT, RYPDAL & TEKRO etc.)
Her professional career starts in 2005 with debut EP AMBIENCE - released from Norwegian electronica-hiphop label ABON RECORDS. Since her debut, she has been described as - an oriental version of Goldfrapp, Underworld & The Future Sound of London. In addition, she has provided license for world's major electronic company Philips Electronics - together with her colleagues at BENT MUSIC based in Toronto, Canada. One of her tracks was pre-loaded on Philips MP3 players & audio-devices which were distributed worldwide in 2006. It was also demonstrated in stores on worldwide campaign for Philips recent MP3 product GO GEAR.
She has also been featured on ArtistDirect-ubl.com, NRK P3 (Norway), Playback Magazine (St.Louis, USA), Luver Radio (San Francisco, USA), Sound.jp-DiscoClub (Tokyo, Japan), Skylight Magazine (Greece), Neo-Zine (USA), Black Channels (Germany) etc., and has recently worked on remix for Norwegian psychedelic jazz-trumpeter NILS PETTER MOLVAER, English rock band HEAT FROM A DEADSTAR, Italian alternative band THE GIFT PROJECT etc.
In January 2008, she released her first full-length album A PURE LAND. After 13 years of living in Europe, she found her musical inspiration in the calm environment of hometown Kyoto in which her sense of cultural identity permanently formed from. Combining the Japanese background & her favorite European style of music in an untraditional way - this is what you will hear on the brandnew album. This time, she has expanded boundaries with amazing assistances from international guest artists NILS PETTER MOLVAER (Norway), ABON (Norway), STEFANO PANUNZI (Italy), JUJU & JORDASH (Netherland) & HECTOR RAMIREZ TATO (China/Mexico).
Her first music video (created & produced by cutting-edge art-vidual directors VJERAN CENGIC, BRANKA RADONIC & PREDRAG ARSOVSKI from Zagreb,Croatia) was premiered at her release party in Oslo on 26th January 2008.
