  • Did you watch the video AND anyone else get surprised by December?

Did you watch the video on our myspace? Well, now you can turn your guilt into initiative!

    http://www.myspace.com/sleeperstar/

It is December, and Dallas just started feeling cold.

Chris and I are doing the usual: procuring spaceheaters for our garage/rehearsal area so we don't end up like Mr. Freeze.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNaDZIrxh-0

Thanks, youtube. I hope we don't ever have to repay you.

This week we head to College Station, TX (famous for its delicious college), and if we're going to see you there LET US KNOW! We want to trade our handshakes for sidehugs, peace signs for high fives, anonymous emails for facebook friendship, etc. Be square or be there (squares will be escorted to circular prisons, there is no escape).

sericulture  the production of raw silk using silkworms

In the 11th century, unscrupulous European traders began smuggling silkworm eggs and mulberry seeds from China in an attempt to start silk production closer to home. It didn't work.

Chris, Nick, and I (Jake) are in the studio, standing around the mulberry tree wondering why silky shirts aren't falling out.

Now there are hardly any silkworms in the wild, having been bred and domesticated to the point that they have lost the ability to fly. Left to crawl blindly on forest floors, there would be no stopping the owls. Murderers.

Hey all you JJPYL kids, thanks for a really insanely awesome show last night! We hope no one was injured with all the crowd surfing last night: our insurance doesn't cover "crazy"...

Anyway, we're hanging around Dallas for the next few weeks, gearing up for a busy winter/spring, so...

    ...drop us a line

    if you find the time

    and if you're so inclined,

    make it rhyme.

  • Tuesday

The funny thing about time-travel is that we are already doing it; one moment at a time...

Thus we arrive at Tuesday, today of all days, where billions participate in the sleep/wake/hunger/work/hunger/work/hunger/sleep cycle. (Disclaimer: college students exclusively conform to a sleep/wake/sleep cycle, with an occasional "work" thrown in every fortnight). We are unified in our patterns if not by our practices and that brings me us to the crux of this post...

THIS SATURDAY, ROCKIN THE DOCKS IS UPON US! It's October, and if you are anywhere near the Dallas area you should know about this Rockwall festival. Come join us right off the bridge in front of the Hilton Hotel for an outdoor musical EXTRAVAGANZA! EVERYTHING MUST GO! NO MONEY DOWN, 0% FINANCING!

...sorry got a little carried away. Find us by the water!

    BREAKING NEWS: Pennsylvania is cold.

This is Jake again, hiding in our hotel room from the sleeting tundra that is Lancaster, PA this morning, hanging in there at the NACA Mid-Atlantic conference.

  • Friday

FRIDAY "From the olde English holiday of 'Friar Dye', when local villagers would take their clothes weekly to the monastary to be dyed the much-in-demand 'Monkbrown'." (source unknown and possibly untrustworthy)

Hey kids and consenting adults! We are working in the bedroom/studio of Nick Box on our quasi-daily sonic adventurequest. Next week we head to Philadelphia for a college campus conference on a mission for some East Coast shows next spring. Any East Coasters particularly want to see us on campus? Tell your Campus Activities Director and/or councilmember to come see us at our booth. We will be there and we may have candy.

    Until nextday.

  • Uniquely Novel Newness

    They've found us...

Hello. Congratulations. You are on the ground level of Sleeperstar, a band finding it's way in the perilous underground of Millenial-Recession-Era artistry. If we are ever playing soccer stadiums and basketball diamonds?, you will be able to look at all your poser friends and say, "I knew them back when they were unknown/down-to-earth/underground/etc." This sort of moral leverage on your friends has always been priceless, and we (Sleeperstar) want you to be able to take full advantage. Browse the tunes, check the photos, and drop us a note every once in a while!

We know we will not ever be able to say "thank you" enough for your friendship and support...

    ... thanks anyway.
