  • Aust news - NEW SINGLE '16'

Sneaky's new single '16' is coming your way. Expect to hear this much loved, much requested tune on your radio any old day, and come Feb 14, you'll be able to buy or download the single from your closest shop or computer. As Miss Connie sings 'I feel high just being with you' you won’t be able to help feeling a little high too... and with a stack of massive club mixes from the likes of TV Rock, Tommie Sunshine and Donnie Sloan, there’s gonna be plenty of kids feeling high when they hear that chorus in the clubs too. • When We Were Young

    Hi there friends & lovers
    It's that time again!

    WHEN WE WERE YOUNG

The new Sneaky Sound System single When We Were Young comes out in Australia on Saturday the 15th of November. There's not a whole lot you have to do guys, it's really easy. First thing, get your copy of the single from iTunes or BigPond (both have exclusive bonus remixes) or, if you want the real thing so you can hold it and touch it and scratch it, head down to JB Hi-fi or Leading Edge music. Then ring up your favourite radio station and demand to hear it. Then chuck on your favourite of the awesome remixes (mine's the Breakbot one, no, maybe the Shazam one) and dance around your living room or bedroom or swerve all over the road. EASY! Also, grab one of the ringtones from wherever you buy your ringtones and annoy your family and friends!

    BACK HOME IN OZ

We're super excited here cos the guys are all back from their UK tour next weekend. Then we're all on the road for shows in Adelaide & Perth (Stereosonic festival), Sydney (Homebake) and the Cairns Music Festival. That's just this year, then we've got Brisbane on New Years Day and Big Day Out. ULTIMATE SUMMER FUN ALERT!

    Thanks all

    Louis

  • up late update from sneaky HQ

    Hi friends and lovers!

Louis here, your Sneaky Sound System office boy, keeping you up-to-date with all things Sneaky.

Firstly, we want to thank everyone who bought 2 and Kansas City, the album debuted at #1 and both have achieved Gold Sales.

The new single When We Were Young is already on the radio (call up and request it) and is available in store and online November 15th. Wait 'til you hear the remixes, they are some serious heat too! The film clip is done now. It'll be on the telly this weekend and you can catch it on our YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/sneakysoundsystemnow. It's super cool. Adam Callen, who was nominated for an ARIA Award for the ‘Kansas City' clip, swapped the puppets for a foxy dancing girl and a bunch of digital zoo animals.

We're missing Angus, Daimon and Connie a lot, but they're destroying the UK at the moment. They've just finished a tour with Sam Sparro, are playing the Skins club nights, a bunch of their own headline shows and UFO has been copping serious rotation on BBC Radio 1! They'll be back for summer and you can catch them at one of the dates on our page (I'll be there too, girls. Come say hi and I'll introduce you to Daimon).

  • Update from Sneaky HQ

Where has the time gone? Since the last update SSS has had a #1 album in Australia (for which we're shouting thank you from the rooftops!!), a bit of a hit with Kansas City (it was certified Gold last week ... woohoo!) and have spent a few weeks in the UK touring with Sam Sparro, shooting videos, and doing lots of interviews and tv performances. (Also partying as hard as ever, in fact, Daimon's loving it so much he's still over there as I type, but Connie and Angus have zipped back to Sydney for literally five days to see family and friends before they head back for their first headline UK shows.

You might have heard that the guys shot a new video for UFO in London a few weeks ago, which gets its UK release on November 3. The video was put together by uber-director Ridley Scott's company (nice!) and sees Daimon and Angus in black suits covered with LED lights... dancing. Yes, dancing. Angus has promised us he'll never dance in another video. Connie, as always, looks incredible. Check out the video here

Meanwhile back in Oz, we're getting ready to release "When We Were Young", which will be the second single from ‘2'. It'll be in your favourite record store on Sat Oct 18, and of course available from the usual online retailers as well. It includes cracking remixes too. The video is almost done and looks amazing. It's by the same guys who did Kansas City, but it's about as different as you can imagine. Check your tv screens from Oct 20, and we'll post stills on MySpace and Facebook soon

Lastly, don't forget SSS have a few shows coming up before they get on the Big Day Out merry-go-round and of course, more shows will be announced soon.

Meantime stay safe and happy from all of us.

  • Aus News - New Single!

Here comes the second single from ‘2' - When We Were Young. It's definitely a step to the left, with a chanting nonsensical rant through the verse, a glorious chorus of epic proportions to remind us all that summer is around the corner, and to finish it all off is a haunting Gregorian-like choir to send shivers up your spine.

With an outrageous stack of quality remixes from the likes of Sinden, Juan McLean, Breakbot, Shazam and Gloves, When We Were Young has summer anthem written all over it.

We're currently on tour with Sam Sparro in the UK but looking forward to returning home in late November for a string of amazing shows across the summer.

When We Were Young will be on sale 18 October 2008 in stores and online.

  • ‘2’ Debuts at Number One in Australia

SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM ALBUM ‘2' DEBUTS AT NUMBER 1

Sneaky Sound System has had much to cheer about in the past two years or so, but this week the cheer is much, much louder. The ubiquitous Sydneysiders, who last week released their second album ‘2', have debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums chart. Meanwhile the first single from the new album, Kansas City, is sitting pretty at No. 16 in the singles chart. ‘2' is released independently through their own label Whack Recordings, distributed by MGM.

The year is shaping up to be a busy and exciting one with the imminent release of Sneaky Sound Systems debut album in the UK (a mix of ‘2' and the best from the debut). The first UK single, Pictures, continues its rise with blanket coverage on radio and music television.

It has been a whirlwind visit back to Australia after playing Glastonbury, o2 Wireless and Oxegen Festivals in the UK in June/July. The band has spent the past 4 weeks back in Australia spreading the word about their new album. This week they finish their east coast tour playing both Melbourne and Sydney before jumping on a plane back to the UK to play their sold out show at London Scala, followed by a UK tour with Sam Sparro. Stay tuned for Adelaide and Perth dates to be announced VERY SOON!
