Son of Rust

In a secretly funded off-the-books government lab somewhere in the wastes of Nevada, human children were grown in vats and raised by computers in a black-ops military effort to infiltrate neighboring nations and eventually bring about total world domination in the late 70's. Unfortunately, top-of-the-line computers of that era were as big as rooms and about as powerful as a Playstation 2, and due to a serious reel-to-reel software mixup (much of the core programming code was mixed up with some Men Without Hats albums) the project failed. Born in neighboring vats, Justin Coope and Ben Purdy were eventually cleared for release into society and Son of Rust was born.
Of course, being raised by computers has had lingering psychological and sociological effects on the fragile minds of the band members, and latent subliminal programming continues to drive them to pursue world domination. That is, of course, when they're not eating corn chips and playing video games.
Son of Rust music has been described as a combination of Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails. Also as post-punk, new wave, darkwave, industrial, synthpop, and many other grasping-at-straws attempts to classify the unclassifiable. We prefer "electro-rock".
