In a time where modern rock music is becoming more flavor of the week every second, it is refreshing to find a band like SPEED THE PLOW. This group of 5 has taken the best pieces from the last 10-15 years of rock music and have come up with their own slant. Their songs have a foundation that never crumbles, this foundation is a solid heavy riff groove that is supported by a band tightness that is a rare find on the independent music scene. While a lot of indie bands make music that is understood by a select few, SPEED THE PLOW have managed to write songs that are easily enjoyable to all rock fans. Yes, many will make the comparisons to bands like ALICE IN CHAINS, SOUNDGARDEN and the other bands from that section of the musical world but on closer listen you will find a new approach to the style of music that has influenced SPEED THE PLOW. Heard in the songs of the band are the radio sensibilities of a HOOK as well as the out of the ordinary sounds and textures of an "alternative" band. You will find yourself remembering the songs and you will want to hear them again! The musicianship in SPEED THE PLOW is a stellar performance. Drumming by MIKE QUESNETTE is the true underlying force and tightness of the band. His drumming is powerful but he knows when to keep it simple and work for what the song calls for. Bass guitarist ERIK DUBE is QUESNETTE's counterpart in the rhythm section. This bass guitar player is not afraid to beef up the song with melodic bass parts. The guitar duties are split by MIKE DINICE and BRIAN CHICOINE who together work well as a rhythm guitar unit and separately bring two different lead styles to the table. DINICE is the technician while CHICOINE is the noise machine. Two separate styles of guitar playing would spell disaster for most bands but these two slingers have come together in an impressive way. The textures and sounds that they add to the songs are key to SPEED THE PLOW's signature sound. The voice of the band is KEITH DRAGHI who's style is an asset to the band's musical direction. He performs his vocal duties with a feeling that is lost among many of today's singers and frontmen. He is also a fresh departure from the RAP/ROCK vocalists that saturate most of what is passing for rock music these days. Even when DRAGHI shares the vocal duties with his bandmate CHICOINE (who sings lead on a couple of songs) his vocal part is unmistakable, prominent and vital to the song. Together these 5, known as SPEED THE PLOW, have created something that will no doubt come to the forefront of the music world. Biography Writen By: Jason Halbert
