The dreaming is a great in its own right and I will deffinetly check them out when they get around to NYC.
If you are looking for something a little closer to SW check out Walter's new band Chokt. Now these guys deffinitely need to put out an album! I am drooling over their music. BTW its Walter that was working with The Clay People, not Andy.

SW were, after NIN, the best band , lyrically and musically I had the pleasure to listen to. The Dreaming are good, just a slightly different, evolved sound for Chris. Everyone moves on.. hell, even I'm older .. lol.
If only they'd get their asses to the UK to tour.. :)

I agree with Hera. Things evolve, as does music and people's personal tastes. The Dreaming's sound now doesn't sound like SW, and I like that. One thing I don't like, however, is when people assume things or post things when they aren't even sure if what they're stating is true (i.e. "The rest of the band is not at odds, they're all just pissed at Chris.") /shrug. Check out The Dreaming's sound. If you like it, great; if not, then move along. No need to negatively comment a band for playing ... More...I agree with Hera. It makes sense that The Dreaming moved away from SW's sound. Music styles change over the years and bands have to adapt to that; it would be counterproductive to keep the style the same. Besides that, The Dreaming and Stabbing Westward are (and were always meant to be) two entirely different bands, despite having the same lead singer/founder.

Just to clarify some points. The rest of the band is not at odds, they're all just pissed at Chris. Chris said in a 2006 interview that The Dreaming will not be performing any more SW tracks live and that he's done with SW. Andy was, possibly still is, working The Clay People. The other two members are also in different groups.

If you're looking for a band that has the same feel as Stabbing Westward, check out VAST. Still going strong since the late 90s, new album just came out.
