We take our moniker from where we live. That dark, sorted end-of-the world type place where dreams are forgotten and replaced with the nightmare of life. Where secrets are kept hidden, burried under six feet of soil. The residents of the STATELINE MOTEL may not be as treacherous as the characters and events they invoke in their music, but then again they may be. Dressed in a combination of Victorian decadence and dime novel noir, they use Garage/Punk/Rock and Roll like one of Jekyll’s elixirs to elicit fear, passion and enjoyment from the listener. With songs about such notorious characters as H.H. Holmes, Lizzy Borden, BTK, Sylvia Plath, and such malicious subjects as Satan, Murder, Madness, Hokum and Black Magick, STATELINE MOTEL stand out as sophisticated, devious and dark punk storytellers of the highest order. Their music is catchy and at times poppy, punk rock with hints of bands like THE DESCENDENTS and THE DAMNED, but it has a rough distorted garage rock edge, reminiscent of THE PRETTY THINGS and MC5 which all support the strained, howling preacher’s voice of Richard Gill. The band initially recorded a three song EP called “Murder at the…Stateline Motel” with a limited run of 200 and has sold out of all copies. They just recorded A NEW ALBUM CALLED "CHILDREN'S STORIES" and they would like to find a record label interested in helping them get back into the studio to record additional tracks for a much longer release. They plan to put all they have behind any release including touring, radio, promotion, etc. It would be a beneficial alliance between both parties and STATELINE MOTEL would make a great addition to any label. Stateline Motel is simply... Blood soaked songs of Murder, Madness and Regret mixed up with a bit of Hokum and Black Magick.
