I love to sing the songs of Sondheim because they test me. I never have trouble interpreting the words, and the melodies challenge my vocal range; but achieving proper breath control is where I struggle. Love it though.

A question for Sondheim:
Many great artists have "epiphany" moments-- major events that form their unique style, inspire their masterpieces and cause breakthroughs in their abilities. Do you have a few of those?

Just caught the Broadway update of "Sunday" and let me just say, "all things are beautiful"! For a show I've breathed the past 15 years, it blew the paint off what lives in my mind. And I was like fourth to last row mezzanine.

I had the honour of meeting Sondheim in '92 when SOCAN and the CBC brought him to the University of Toronto. I was a little worried as I practically worshiped the man, that he wouldn't be able to live up to my expectations. But he did, and then some. He was funny, articulate, sensitive... I can't say enough about the man or his music.

Sondheim is not only the greatest musical composer of this century but is also the best lyricist of all time. The genius of his shows such as Company, Sunday in the Park with George, and Into the Woods are unmatched. Even in his lesser known productions of Evening Primrose and Assasins have powerful moving songs that have become some of my favorites. I love this man with my whole heart!!!
