  • It's Adam here!

    Hello everyone its Adam here.

Well it’s been quite quiet in the world of the Stereophonic recently, compared to the last 2 previous years of touring. We left the O2 bruised, battered but happy and licked our wounds and bandaged our heads in readiness to fight another day! And that day was Saint Patrick’s Day! We pick em eh? We played the Meteor Awards this week in Dublin, we had the honor of opening the show with a medley of Maybe Tommorrow, Tramps Vest, Local Boy and finishing with Dakota! All of that fitted in to 5 mins and 20 secs, I don't know how we did it but we did, and it went down great. The show was filled with lots of celebs one of which was Jo Elliot from Def Leopard, we ended up hanging out together all night and Jo told us stories of AC/DC and Motorhead amongst others as we sat there like little kids at bedtime and then the Guiness started to kick in, ha-ha, the rest was a blur but I'm sure I ate a green chocolate covered brownie at 4am!

As you all probably know we play the Winter Gardens in Margate on the 24th which promises to be rocking for all of you that are going and then to the Albert Hall on the 26th, a gig for the important charity the Teenage Cancer Trust, loads of great acts all together to help out this very worthy cause, we hope some of you can make it and we hope you have a great time,

    By for now
    Adam x

  • Hola!

    Hola everyone,

Since I wrote here last, I've been busy training for this year's London marathon. The date is getting closer and now I have less than six weeks left! I want to thank everyone that has been so supportive and have made a donation on my Justgiving page up to now. We are almost half way to reaching our target donation. As you know, I'll be running it for Cancer Research, which is a great charity and very close to my heart.

Last Friday I managed to run my first 17 miles! So, everything is going well on that department, apart from the occasional pain in my knees and heels. Can't wait to do the marathon now. Amazing how much you can push your body to the limits.

Also, I've been sharpening my skills in the cuisine department, and got the
boys to be my guinea pigs for the night. Two weeks ago, Kelly ate my dinner
and made it through. The rules are that you have to make everything yourself. We made a three-course dinner. It was a lot of work but well worth it at the end! We started with a variety of Argentinean pasties called empanadas. For the main we did fresh seafood paella and the dessert was warm crepe filled with wild berries and homemade vanilla ice cream. The bit I enjoyed the most was making the ice cream. I never thought it was so simple to make, the only pain is that once in the freezer you have to keep on stirring it for further six hours every thirty minutes!

But next week is a whole different story. It's back to business for us! We'll start the week on Monday, doing some rehearsals for our performance in the Irish Meteor Awards on Tuesday. It'll be fun getting back together with the boys to play again as we haven't done so in a while.

The week after that we have two shows, the Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the
Royal Albert Hall on the 26th, which you knew about; and yesterday we announced a warm up gig on the 24th, at The Winter Gardens in Margate. I'm really looking forward to play again and start working on the new album. I'll be happy to resume my activities on the drum department. Can't wait to see which direction we'll take.

    Bye for now!

  • Rich's new blog!

    Hi everyone,

Seems like it was ages ago that I wrote a blog. There's been a lot on my plate
since the tour. I've moved house and been trying to renovate the new place while juggling normality. So the beginning of this year has been full on! Good though as I enjoy keeping myself busy. However, I'm really looking forward to the shows coming up later this month. We've got the Teenage Cancer Trust gig and The Meteor awards show in Ireland. Be good to see everyone and get back to playing. After that we will probably be making a start on new material for the next album. Kelly has been doing demos lately so we should have a play around with those while rehearsing for the gigs. Having new songs is like having a new toy when you were kids, you just can't wait to show them off to everyone.

Ah well, back to nailing down floorboards and cutting my hands to
    shreds!

    Love to all
    Bob the builder...(aka Rich!)
