Strutmore, being new to the market, has already worked together to make giant strides in their hometown of Dallas/Ft Worth. They are steadily building a fan base and are beginning to reach out to new listeners and play larger venues. They have shared the stage with national acts such as Flickerstick, and The Vanished and are continuing to make friends with many who work in the industry. In late 2003, the band headed west to Los Angeles to begin work on their debut LP. While in L.A., the band got a taste of what it takes to compete and survive in this industry. Drummer Brian Bixler stated, “There are a lot of great bands out there and comparatively only a few make it. We want to follow in the footsteps of those few and take this thing one step at a time.” With the arrival of an anticipated debut album in mid 2004, a growing base of fans that keep spreading the word about the group, and an invitation to perform at the 2004 Van’s Warped Tour, it is obvious that Strutmore is taking the right steps. Great things can be expected of these young and talented musicians as they continue to achieve their goals, and further their musical careers.
