  • Favourite moments from the recent tour..

    Peeps!
Everyone's been thinking of their favourite things about our recent US tour & wishing it could have lasted a bit longer...…
Mine was the lady at the front at Capital Jazz fest hollering ‘Nottgonna Change- I’m Notgonna change, sister, are you?’ and meeting Caron Wheeler backstage...also the Mermaid at Bimbo’s- even though I didn’t see her (for those of you who don't know, it is a tradition at Bimbo's to have a Mermaid swimming in  fish tank above the bar- an optical illusion created by a dancer in the basement -I found out about this as I happen to know a former Mermaid- who now lives in London!)… dancing and singing "Wedding Belle Blues" (Will You Marry Me Bill?) to Bill Coleman at the aftershow party at Bamboo 52….and of course every show we did- I wish I could have been in the audience- you were wild!
Andy's was being approached by a fully uniformed NYPD officer (complete with holster!) whilst sound checking for the BB King's gig in New York.... no Andy wasn't guilty of any crime- the aforementioned officer was just checking club security but happened to mention that the show was sold out and that his wife would kill him if he went home without a ticket...
Jody thought the funniest thing was that on arrival in San Francisco, the first stop of our tour, we all independently visited Wallgreen's for necessary & fogotten items.....I happened to bump into Tim at 1am looking for 'green ting'  (spirulina health drink...) whilst looking for a US adaptor myself.....
Gina was thrilled to meet George Duke in Baltimore after our show at the Capital Jazz Fest and discuss some of her favourite of his that have inspired her.... also to bump in to a hungry Nathan East, envious of the picnic we had just had!
Tim's had to be visiting his favourite restaurant (and consequently ours!)-Ippudo- in New York. What a great surprise, after discovering the culinary delights of 'ramen king' Shigemi Kawahara in Japan, to find that he has opened a New York restaurant and happened to be here with the Ippudo team on the night of our BB King's gig. We were all invited over for lunch the next day. Particularly delicious was the green tea creme brulee....
Dan went sky-lounging in search of the highest bar....his first port of call was Top of The Mark in San Francisco......

  • les étrangers

..we've had a few requests for the 'les étrangers' soundtrack CD that was available at the recent gigs, and which has been selling on ebay for frankly silly money. We have a limited number of these left (100 to be exact), which are now available for purchase, should you so desire, for the princely sum of 10 of your english pounds, including postage and packing, and lovingly signed by the pair of us..
