Talking dog says this: I produce works in the UK roots and dub tradition, and drawing on original JA and UK influences from the 70's through to movers and earthshakers of the present day. All music, vocals, lyrics and production is strictly my own work.
Lyrics are conscious and spiritual. The music may be hard and heavy, stepping in warrior style, or cool and meditative. Don't even waste your time listening to these tunes unless you have a system that will carry the bass! Not music for little PC speakers...
I have little interest in chasing the commercial runnings of the mainstream music business and seek to make my music directly available to those with ears that wish to hear. Dubplate mixes and specials for soundsystem work can be arranged for those who want them, get in touch to discuss. Talking Dog tracks and dubplates are now being played in conscious soundsystems and radio worldwide, and I give thanks and respect to all who have carried the music out there.
I also play bass and MC for world fusion collective Secret Archives of the Vatican. Check them out and hear some tunes at:
http://www.myspace.com/secretarchives
I have been humbled by the supportive and enthusiastic responses from many of you who have checked out the music since I set this page up here. Sincere thanks and love go out to to all of you. I am trying to deal with the many requests that have come for dubplate mixes and songs for sounds and for radio, so if you asked me for something please be patient! I have not forgotten about you. Time (lack of...) is a killer. But I will get to you!

Pete will be in Essaouira, Morocco, in late June with Vince (from Secret Archives) for the 11th Gnawa Festival. This is an annual festival of gnawa (or gnaoua) music, the music of black Moroccans. A London-based DJ called U-Cef is organising a series of nights at a venue called Le Meshouar. Pete has a couple of DJ sets (as Talking Dog) and we've been billed as Secret Archives for one night but it'll be more of a jam with the locals than a gig as such. So, if any of you can make it, we'd love to hook up with you in Morocco!
