Oct 01, 01:21 PMyou've already had the best days of your life.Hey!
This has been such an amazing week. I'm HOME for a few days, recording radio specials for the album launch, photo shoots, and preparing for the Def Leppard Crossroads I'm shooting with CMT!! Hearing my song on Grey's Anatomy was absolutely the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. (Or definitely somewhere in my top 5 of coolest things) I put up a video blog about it. So this week, we're in "final approval mode" for the album. You know, all the emails that say in the subject lines "Fearless album booklet: FINAL APPROVAL" or "CD design: FINAL APPROVAL". So I'm doing a lot of approving. And then they send it to the magical CD maker people and they make all the CDs just in time for November 11. Actually, it's called the distribution branch, but I prefer "the magical CD maker people". One of the things I'm the most excited about is the image that's going to be on the physical CD. It's probably my favorite, and I can't wait for you to see it. I'm still wayyy obsessed with getting everything ready for the album coming out. This album is everything to me. I'm really happy that I got to say everything I wanted to on this album. I got to put 13 songs on it! All the stories from these past 2 years..I can't wait for you to hear them! In other news.......
I'm so excited, because Kellie Pickler's new album is out!! I love her. She's like a sister to me, and her album is amazing. There's a song on the album called "The Best Days of Your Life" that we actually wrote together when we were out on the Brad Paisley tour!! I sang the background vocals and Kellie nailed this song. This song came to be after a show. Kellie came storming onto my bus, fuming about something one of her ex boyfriends did. She was ranting and raving and going on and on about it, and I just said "Kellie, you're saying lyrics right now. The things you're saying are a song. Let's go write it." And so we went into the back of my tour bus and wrote this song in about 30 minutes. I'm so proud to have co-written a song on her record. I think you'll really love the album, especially "Somebody to Love Me". That's a really beautiful song. I hope you all get a chance to hear "The Best Days of Your Life", and download it on iTunes! Because maybe, if you buy it on iTunes, her label will pick it as the next single. And if it gets picked to be the next single, I wouldn't stop smiling for about a week. Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and estimate that it would be a full week of optimism and smiling and other various ways of spreading joy. So go check it out! (please)

Sep 25, 07:44 AMMy long time obsession with Grey's Anatomy...Let me tell you a story:
Once upon a time there was a girl. She was born in 1989 and was bald until she was like two. Then she got a blonde afro. As a kid, she liked doing school projects and didn't have that many friends. She hung out with her mom a lot. And her cat. Then she started writing songs about all those awesome rejected feelings and blah blah blah..one thing led to another, and she went on tour. Then a show came out called Grey's Anatomy. It came out the same time her world was starting to change. Every time she would feel alone or stressed out, she would watch Grey's Anatomy. Soon she just started to refer to it as "her show" and got all the seasons on DVD as soon as they came out and played them on repeat in the bus and downloaded every song that was EVER on Grey's Anatomy episodes, and decided that one day she was inevitably going to name one of her future daughters Izzie. When Denny died in season 3, she couldn't stop crying for days and it was borderline embarrassing. Anyway, so this show became her favorite thing ever and she watched it obsessively for years and years. And then one day, she got a call-- and she found out that one of HER songs that SHE wrote............. was going to be played on THE SEASON PREMIERE of her FAVORITE SHOW (possibly the BEST show EVER CREATED).. Grey's Anatomy. And she started jumping up and down and started hugging people she didn't know in the hotel lobby and sobbing hysterically-- again, borderline embarrassing. And it was the best day ever. And then she blogged about it and hopes that you don't think she's weird for obsessing over a TV show so much. The End.
Guys, I can't BELIEVE this! The song you'll hear on Grey's tomorrow night (TOMORROW NIGHT!!) is called "White Horse" and it's one of my favorites on the new album. It's a two hour premiere and I can't wait to see it. The coolest thing is, I would've been counting down to tomorrow anyway, because that's my show. I need to watch it, or the world ends. But now I'm counting down the seconds. I'm playing a show tomorrow night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, so I hope the times line up to where I can catch it when I get offstage. I've been in LA for the past few days, and it's been a blast. And I recorded a new song the other day for Fearless. I think it's fun to put yourself under crazy pressure to finish a song by a certain deadline. That's what I did with this last song. And that makes 13 songs on the new album. 13..... I think that's a good number of songs to end up with....<3
Grey's Anatomy rules.

Sep 17, 12:32 PMMy cat snores.I just got back to Nashville today. I was in LA for some meetings about the preparation for my album launch. And I went to my friend Selena's movie premiere for "Another Cinderella Story". That movie rules. I was crying laughing, and she's so awesome in it. Then I got a day in LA to shop and hang out, which was really cool. Every time I go there, I find more places I love. And I got home today. I landed and stumbled off the plane, half asleep. Then fell asleep in the car on the way home. Then fell asleep again when I got home. Then I woke up a half hour later to go play at the Bluebird Cafe. There was a songwriter's night set up by the Academy of Country Music honoring the writers of 1 songs, and I was invited to perform. It was so much fun getting back to an acoustic show. While I was plugging my guitar in, I was just thinking about how often I used to do that when I was starting out. I didn't have a sound guy or a wireless guitar pack or a band.. I just had my guitar, and I'd plug it in myself and play shows acoustic. And I didn't have an album out, and I didn't have a record deal, and no one knew the words to the songs I'd written. And so in that moment of plugging in my guitar, I just couldn't help but smile.. Wow. When I add it all up, how much I've been given.. It takes my breath away. Tonight was my favorite show I've done in a while. It was cool to see my family too. I'd been on the road for 3 weeks straight without coming home. We were all sitting in the kitchen, talking and laughing. And it was me sitting on the counter like I always do when I'm home, and Austin talking about his school, and dad talking about stocks. My cat goes into an angry rage when I'm gone. She's like the most miserable, depressed, whining cat ever when I'm not here. She just wanders around the house screaming and howling. I know this because when I'm on the road, my dad calls me and leaves me voicemails of the cat. And so when I'm home she's extra clingy. She's laying on my shoulder right now, snoring and purring. Yes, both. It's an interesting combination of sounds. I'm supposed to mention that the deadline for getting your picture in my album is Thursday. So if you want to do that, go to thetaylornation.com. So I'm loving hearing what you guys think of Love Story! I'm so excited that the video is out, and it's the 2 overall song on iTunes, 1 country song!! Thank you so much for buying it. I hope it goes to 1, that would be so awesome. I love going on youtube and seeing the different videos and slideshows people have made to that song, it makes me so happy. A lot of people have been asking me what inspired this song.. I think the line that sums up what that song is about is "This love is difficult, but it's real." It just means that sometimes you have to fight for love, but sometimes it's worth fighting for. Like with Romeo and Juliet. Except without the death. :) To me, the song isn't really about living in a castle and having met your true love at a royal ball. It's simpler than that. It's about love being worth it. The hard times, the things that keep you apart, the times when you question it.. I would really like to think that the right love is worth the energy we put into it. So that's what this song is about. Love and Romeo, and how we fight for those things that we can't be without. In 1789 or in 2008. Whether you're 16 or 60. This love is difficult, but it's real. When I wrote that line, I knew it would be my favorite line to sing every night. And it's true, every time I sing that, I can't help but smile.
I also can't help but smile when my guitarist Paul sings the harmony part on "I'll be the princess". (check out the video from when we went to Philadelphia)
HAHAHA.

Sep 12, 10:09 AMit's a love story, baby just say yes <3Hey!
I'm so excited because we were able to put Love Story up on iTunes sooner than expected. It's out TODAY! I'd love it if you'd go check it out (possibly buy it) and let me know what you think! I wrote that one by myself, so I'm extra excited that it's the first single. And the video debuts TONIGHT on CMT!!!! Ahhhhh I can't wait for you all to see it! It's different than all the ones we've made in the past. We may be going back in time for this video. Maybe. Not that I'm hinting at anything. At all. Tonight I play in Philly-- actually Camden, NJ.. But it's right outside of Philadelphia. I used to come to big concerts here when I was little. It's really surreal to come back to these same venues and play shows. The VMA's were so much fun. I got to interview all these awesome people on the red carpet before the VMA's started. It's interesting being on the other side of the interview. And you've got this little earpiece in, and people are talking to you in your ear the whole time you're doing an interview. It's like you're hearing voices. Major multi-tasking. Thank you all for voting, I know you tried. :) After LA, I flew to Dallas and played a show for the Wal Mart employees. That was fun, they've been really cool to us. Then, directly after that, I flew to New York City to help announce the CMA nominees. It was so crazy to hear my name announced in the Female Vocalist category.. !!!! I didn't expect to be nominated in that category, so I was really shocked. Being in a category with Carrie, Miranda, Alison, and Martina feels so unreal. Those are my heroes. I look up to them so much. This has been such an incredible week! After the announcements, I did another photo shoot for a magazine that will come out around album release week. Then hopped on my bus and drove to Virginia Beach to play a show with Rascal Flatts. Tonight is Camden, and tomorrow is Boston! Life is busy, life is good. I can't wait to hear what you think of the Love Story video! TONIGHT! CMT!
be there. or we'll find you.

Sep 02, 08:23 AMEverything will fall into place.Hey!
So now is the time for planning. In 73 days, November 11th will be here and so will the release date of my new album. And so right now I'm in the middle of writing my 'thank you' section and thinking about track listing order (wondering "What song should go first..? Or last? How do you get the perfect flow of an album? What IS the "flow" of an album? Hmmm.."). And I'm also thinking about the secret codes to put into the lyrics, like with the last album. I think it'll be the same code system, where all the letters of the lyrics are lowercased except for some. You put the capitalized letters together and it spells out a phrase or word. It was cool to have that on the first record. I got to call out a few guys, which is always fun for me. Love that. This next record is on my mind 24/7, all the time. It never stops. I'm always either listening to a new mix of a song or scanning through pictures to make sure we've chosen the right ones, or wondering which songs you guys are going to like the best. I'm just so obsessed with it right now, all the planning. And sometimes I just have to sit back and remind myself that 73 days is not going to be here any sooner if I obsess. It's still going to be 73 days away. That's just how it works, so I should probably obsess about other things that are coming up sooner. Like the VMA's. And LONDON. I'm really excited because I'm going to London to play a show on September 3rd. AWESOME! I can't wait, I'll let you all know how it goes. And the VMA's are coming up on September 7th! I'm still picking out a dress. The voting is still up for Best New Artist (cough cough please go vote at mtv.com) and it'll be up until the show on September 7th. Tonight I played a show in Cincinnati, Ohio with Rascal Flatts. It was an awesome, sold out crowd and that makes me smile. So thank you for coming out to the shows! I can't wait to be out there headlining. My wheels are turning about that too.... more on that later. I love you guys, 73 days!! -
Aug 15, 09:47 AMVMA Voting Up Now!!!Hey!!
I've had an awesome week, I've been in NYC shooting for the Jonas Brothers 3D movie. It's been so much fun! We stayed right across from Central Park and I could see the whole city every time I looked out my window. I'm so excited to tell you that Should've Said No is my 2nd NUMBER ONE single. THANK YOU! I've been doing interviews on the radio all week and I just want to say thank you. It wouldn't have happened without you. So..... The VMA voting for Best New Artist is COMPLETELY fan voted! I just found that out for sure. AHHH!! I would love it so much if you'd go vote on MTV.com. I'd smile. A lot. Forever. So much smiling. I'm putting up a video that was shot on the set of the video for the first single--- which is on the album "FEARLESS" that will be out NOVEMBER 11, 2008!!! I'm so excited that I can announce that and say it, and let everybody know when it's coming out. You guys have been there for me and I can't wait for you to hear this music. It's just as personal as the first album, just as much name-dropping and anger and love and sadness and feelings and all that. By the way, when I post the video later on tonight.. the two people in it with me are John and Brianna, who won the TRL fan contest when I hosted TRL a while back. They came and hung out at the shoot. It was such a blast!! Cough VMA voting cough cough VMA voting cough MTV.com cough cough.

Aug 08, 07:35 AMteen choice <3 <3 <3THANK YOU SO MUCH for voting for the Teen Choice Awards the other night, I'm SO excited because you guys won me the Breakout Artist award!!!! I can't believe I get to have one of those surfboards!! Wow. I can't explain to you how much it means to me that you continue to step to the line with these fan voted awards. I have no idea what I did to deserve what you've given me. All I can say is thank you, please please stay. I love you guys. I want to keep you. :) So for the past two days, I've been busy with something pretty top secret and exciting.. First. Video. Off. The. Second. Album! I'm so excited about it, it's my favorite out of all the videos we've shot. It took the most work and effort and energy and creativity to make. I think it'll be worth it though, when I get to hear what you think of it! All I can say is.. It's nothing like anything we've ever done. We shot all day on the 5th (from 9am to 2am, then on the 6th we started at noon and finally wrapped up shooting at 5:30 AM!) Speaking of videos, I think they announce the nominees for the VMA's tonight on FNMTV, cross your fingers! Thank you so much for my Teen Choice Award, I can't tell you enough how excited I am that you're out there helping me like that. You're amazing and I love it!

Aug 01, 02:02 PMAlbum photos and VMA voting!Hey!! we just finished up a CRAZY two day shoot for the second album.. I can't wait for you to see these shots. There are some pretty funny setups we did-- there's a shot with my band that is hilarious. I wanted every picture to be inspired by lyrics of the new songs. There could possibly be some "dancing in a storm in my best dress, fearless". ha. AHHHH I can't wait for you to hear the new music! We're shooting the video for the first single next week, and I'm counting down the days. It's so different than any video I've done before. Hey, so... Speaking of videos... The VMA voting is ON!! If you would go vote for Teardrops for the Best New Artist video, I would be so happy. So happy I might put up some video footage from the album photo shoot... You never know.. :) There's a banner at the very top of my myspace, and if you click on it-- it takes you right where you need to be to vote. I really appreciate everything you guys have done for me SO much, and the fan voted awards mean the most. I've never been to the VMA's before... (wink) I'm on the way to my show tonight with Rascal Flatts in Atlanta. I can't wait to see you out here!

Jul 21, 11:23 AMFestival season!!Hey!
Being back on the road feels so good. I love being out playing shows every night, and that's exactly what I'm doing right now! We've been doing festivals every day, sometimes with Rascal Flatts, and sometimes just us. We've been counting off the festivals we've done this summer that involve the word "country". Country Thunder, Country Jam, Country Stampede, Country Concert.. It is an incredibly country summer for me, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Today was a travel day for us, and I begged my tour manager to let us stop to shop in Denver. So we went to the mall. Yessss. Shoes. My dad's been out on the road with me for the last week, so today my mom flew out and switched places with him. My dad loves being on the road, and can usually be found handing out Taylor Swift guitar picks at the merch stands. haha. It's been a lot of fun being back out here, I can't explain it. I think being in Hawaii really gave us a second to breathe and unwind, but also reminded me how much I love touring. I put up a few new pictures of our trip. We just got to the venue, we're playing in Cheyenne, WY for the next two nights at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Should be fun!! Can't wait to see you guys out here.
Thanks for everything you do for me!
