Severin the Wanderer:
"Rockabilly has its moments, never better than this. Phil and Dave Alvin kick out the stops and let this Mack truck of a song roll downhill. I saw this band burn down the Whiskey in '81, when these cats had more speed and Daniels in their veins than blood. Pogo-ed till i passed out in a corner, my shirt drenched in sweat. Then after the show to the Double-Zero, a shitty after-hours hole with a vintage 40's fridge jammed with Old Milwaukee. You paid five bucks at the door which bought all you could drink until the beer ran out (which with that crowd was about an hour later). Very different from Destroy All Robots back home in Alphabet City, which had a full bar, dance floor and booths but didn't open till 4 am. Far too many mornings I stumbled, blinking into broad daylight from that batcave after listening to music like this. Oh for the days."
