The most vital acoustic music being today acknowledges its predecessors and
lives in the here and now. For four years now, The Duhks, the band of five
skilled, high-energy, tattooed twenty-somethings from Winnipeg, Manitoba,
has been riveting audiences and winning staunch fans across North America
and around the world with just that kind of music. The band is currently in
the studio with power producer Jay Joyce working on an effort to be released
in July, 2008.
The Duhks latest Grammy nominated album, Migrations, released in the fall of
2006, was produced by Tim O'Brien and Gary Paczosa and features the
signature folk-pop-old time-salsa fusion sound that has moved them to the
forefront of the neo-folk movement. Their unique sound coupled with their
instrumental prowess and powerhouse live show has earned the band a faithful
following and copious praise from the press. The LA Weekly said "Youth,
originality, chops and soul in one package are a damn good sign of things to
come."
This tour will feature new lead vocalist Sarah Dugas- a phenomenal singer
known for her unconditional, inclusive magnetism as well as new
percussionist Christian Dugas.

The Duhks are stoked to be a part of a new compilation album paying homage to the music of Greenwich Village in the 60's entitled "The Village: A Celebration of the Music of Greenwich Village".
You can check out their take on "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" as well as cuts by Los Lobos, Shelby Lynn, Lucinda Williams and Rickie Lee Jones by picking up the CD here.
Also, take a look at this short documentary on the making of "It's Alright Ma" by the Duhks here.

who knew the duhks could be so freaky.
i continue to be dissappointed with all the attention their new singer gets when this band performs, even if she is sandwhiched between scantily clad ladies.

Maybe the Redstone Room at the River Music Experience would host you other than that there's Huckleberry's Pizza in downtown Rock Island (across the river from Davenport, IA) or Bent River Brewery in Moline, IL. It'd be great to see y'all here. We're about 3 to 3.5 hours SW of Milwaukee right on the Mississippi River.
Dear Duhks, you rock and I am sooooooooo stoked that you are coming to Lancaster.... within 5 mins of my house. I am so there! I even requested you visit my town and you ARE! You can come visit me too...he he he! I am right near the club! :-)
