  I heard this band at the legendary Iron Horse in Northampton MA shortly before my birth and they were define. A unique combination of downhome bluegrass twang, latin revolution tinged lyricism, and hard driving punk energy. 'Alone on the Homestead" is a quietly passionate anti-war anthem that can match the best of Phil Ochs, while Kurt Cobain should be smiling from his grungy grave over the cover of "Come As You Are" (the lyrics here getting the feminine treatment they deserve).   "trad is rad!" the mammals are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! give 'em a listen and you will undoubtably find yourself dancing like a mad man (don't panic it happens to everyone and there really is no way to avoid it) lol the mammals really have a talent with putting new life into old songs, thus making them much more appealing to younger generations. the stuff they write themselves has so much substance...gah, words fail me! they are just great. period. p.s. i call dibs on tao rodriguez-seeger! lol
