The New Surreal is New York City's latest bold stab at restoring rock and roll from its faded glory; with heavy focus on meticulous songwriting, memorbale hooks, and concise structure, driven by the quizical introspective musings of lead singer/guitarist Danny Chait. Influences of the three band members range vastly, and given the band's extensive playing and performing experience, they have come to meld seamlessly in constantly refreshing and novel musical statements. The songs draw from sources as diverse as the rock brilliance of Billy Corgan, in his hayday, to the compositional genius of late romantic composers; from the grimy but powerful statements of New York's underground rock, to the cultural subconscious behind the constantly evolving pop music world, and much more. Over the past four years The New Surreal has performed throughout all manners of bars, venues, dives, and parties that Manhattan has to offer. With the completion of the band lineup and the first collection of professionally mastered studio recordings, the band is ready for the mass public at long last. And with all the musical elements now fallen into place, the three members of The New Surreal are in prime position to take the rock and roll world head-on, and are certain to make a worthy dent in the process.
