Oscar Jordan is a professional musician, songwriter, writer, and actor living in Los Angeles California. Born in Chicago in 1960, Oscar absorbed the Blues from the local club scene and became addicted to the guitar. After years of studying his instrument and picking up a hard lesson or two at Blues clubs such as Kingston Mines and Rosa’s, Oscar left Chicago and traveled throughout Europe while in the Army. After returning to the states Oscar attended Chicago’s prestigious Goodman School of Drama where he received a B.F.A. in acting. Still playing Blues and heavy Rock as well as performing in films, television, plays, and commercials, Oscar moved to Los Angeles in 1990 seeking fame and fortune. Since living in Los Angeles he's continued to perform in numerous live and filmed projects, and even played guitar in a backup band for Taj Mahal in a Bell Atlantic commercial. It was during his short tenure as co-director of the Los Angeles chapter of The Black Rock Coalition that Oscar underwent a holy Blues conversion. "I was at a Black Rock Coalition concert and the lead guitarist for a band was playing frantically and flailing his long dreadlocks around in a circle over his head in a wide arc. It was at that precise moment that I had an epiphany. I thought to myself, he’s going to look really silly doing this when he’s 50." In the pursuit to practice and study an evolving art form that was both timeless and filled with substance, Oscar decided to play Blues exclusively. Initially inspired by the work of Albert Collins, Robben Ford, and Melvin Taylor, Oscar formed his own Blues band and never looked back.In addition, Oscar has been awarded scholarships to both The National Guitar Summer Workshop and The American Film Institute’s screen writing program. If this weren’t enough he has a few screenplays under his belt, a book in the making, and is a freelance writer for Univibes Magazine and Health Retreats Magazine. An acknowledged Jimi Hendrix freak and a regular on the Los Angeles Blues club circuit with The Oscar Jordan Band, March 2001 marks the release of his first full length Blues CD titled "Mister Bad Luck."
