The Paperbacks were summoned into modern existence when forensic scientist Cliff Cornelius was studying what appeared to be normal clay in his laboratory.
Feeling exhausted from a day of forensicizing, he lurched sullenly to an open window and said: "I wish there was a band that fused the best elements of rap, rock, rap-rock, mainstream country, skacore, irish traditional, happy hardcore and ambient isolationism."
As if in answer to his bizarre question, a bolt of lightning exploded from the heavens, tearing through his tortured face and igniting the clay behind him...clay that turned out to be magical. Clay that released ninety-five imprisoned musicians from every era, posessed of surgically focused minds, hearts and fingertips. And thus returned to Earth, they began to Rock. And Rap. And Ambient Isolation.
This is the story of that band.
