12/17 - Thank You For Helping Us Reach Our Goals!

Hello Everybody,
Four months ago we came to you with one of the craziest schemes we’ve ever cooked up. We needed $20,000 to make our first full-length album and we turned to you for support in finding that seemingly insurmountable sum.
Guys, we’ll be honest here: we didn’t know if it was possible. We had absolutely no idea what to expect. We were optimistic because you’re all wonderful, but realistic because this is a crazy time in this world of ours.
OK, enough dramatic build-up. Ladies and Gentleman, it is with exploding hearts and huge ridiculous grins that we would like to joyously announce….
WE DID IT!!
Or more appropriately, you did it. You got us there. By the end of this week, we will have a completed record in our hands!!
Because this was such a success, we would like to introduce a new donation plan to raise an additional $20,000 so we can buy 1,500 Snuggies. Sound good? And practical? Grand! Ready – Set - GO!
No, no, no, we kid, we kid.
We are blown away, we are speechless, we are so utterly filled with gratitude – where would we be without you?!? Where we ask you?!? Certainly not sitting on the couch in a mastering studio, watching the computer screen turn sound into color. And most certainly not mere days away from finishing our very first full-length album!
Truly, there are too few words in this meager language of ours to formulate a proper thank you. So we will turn our appreciation into action, and get this album ready as soon as possible so we can deliver it lovingly to all of you, the very people that made its creation possible.

We're thrilled to announce that WRXP has invited The Spring Standards to perform at two of their holiday events. Details are below. We hope to see you there!

11/19 - Winter Run Announced & More!

To all those who came to our most recent show at Joe's Pub, you are amazing and thank you so very much for being there. To all of you who weren't able to make it we can see only two possible reasons why... Either you are working on a way to make the microwavable pill that turns into chicken in 5 seconds from "The Fifth Element" a reality, or you were too busy rescuing the endangered Kakapo from New Zealand by chaining yourself to a tree in it's natural habitat. Both of which are commendable and for this, we congratulate you.

And now for allll of you! we have four shows that we must tell you about, due to a new law that Obama passed stating that "The Spring Standards must tell people of their shows as soon as humanly possible", So this one's for you Mr. President.

The Story of Joe's Pub.

Once upon a time in a land far, far away... there lived a hobbit named Joe... Joe was a regular hobbit with a very strange ability... he could Taste sounds. When he would hear music he would get an explosion of the most beautiful flavors in his mouth. He would try to explain to people why he liked going to see music so much and no one would believe him. Until one day he decided that he was sick of having to explain himself to all of the other Hobbits and went in search of another land where people might understand him better. So he spent months and months building a boat of twigs and fig leaves and set sail on a voyage across the uncharted hobbit seas. To his surprise he found an island with the biggest trees he had ever seen, but these weren't ordinary trees... these trees were made of different metals, bricks and glass. He noticed these strange people walking around with wires hanging from their ears and determined that these people must love music as much HE did! SO he traded in his gold yarn for a room, where he set up the most amazing stage and sound system ever seen in this world or any other, and called it Joe's Pub. Then found the tastiest band he could find, to come and play in his new venue. This band gave him a firework display of flavor in his mouth, and they called themselves "The Spring Standards".

10/13 - WPA Tour Announced & On Sale Now!

Greetings from the Pumpkin Patch!
So we've been hibernating in Trout Studios for the last few weeks and things have been pretty special. Magical even. We have been absolutely BLOWN AWAY by all of your generosity in helping us to raise the money for this record! With your help we are now over half-way to our goal of raising $20,000! We honestly can't tell you how much it means to us that you've shown your support in such a direct and positive way. For those of you who haven't gotten a chance to check out our donation packages (shameless shameless plug), go ahead and take a gander here! The fundraising will continue until we reach our goal so it's never too late to help.
In other news, we are super stoked to be hitting the road as soon as we are done here in the studio - early November is shaping up to be pretty exciting! We are lucky enough to be opening up for Works Progress Administration ("WPA") for a few shows around the Northeast. WPA consists of Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek, Fiction Family), and Luke Bella (Jerry Douglas Band, Lyle Lovett). Interesting non sequitur - we have crossed paths with a few members of WPA in random ways over the years. Once when we were 15, another time at a Jackson Brown concert...we don't know if they remember but we sure do. So come and see our long lost friend reunion!!!
We're also very excited to be returning to the one and only Joe's Pub in November for a very special show, in which we will have some friends help us premiere a few of the newer songs from the upcoming record. We like our friends and we like the instruments they play to help our music sound pretty. Also, our annual Boxing Day show at the Arden Gild Hall is locked in, so get your Christmas crackers ready!
Bundle up y'all - it's gettin' cold. Don't worry though, our love will keep you warm.
