Oct 02 2008, 10:33 AMNew Tiger Army track - Nightmare Before Christmas! In the summer of 2007, Tiger Army was asked to participate in an album of covers of The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. The band covered "Oogie Boogie's Song." Sadly, the record company opted not to include it on the physical release of the album. Even more sadly, this track would be the band's last work with the late Jerry Finn, the amazing producer who helmed Music From Regions Beyond.
The only good news is you can now hear this track for yourself, it's downloadable as a single, .99 cent track from Itunes HERE -- scroll down to Track 21 and click "Buy Song."
It's also available from Amazon HERE.
Beware, our song is NOT on the actual Nightmare Revisted CD to our knowledge, despite early tracklistings from the record company that still pop up all over the internet. There was a lot of hassle involved with the making of this track, but we're happy that it gave us another chance to work with Jerry and we're proud of the results -- you should check it out.

Jun 16 2008, 09:21 AMAround the World in 80 Days... (n13)
Hello everyone, sorry it's been so long since I've written anything. This year has been a nonstop blur of touring that's taken Tiger Army all over the world. It can be a bit disorienting at times, to be in Sydney, Tokyo, London, Helsinki or Vancouver all within a few weeks of each other. My body's internal clock has no idea what to think. What time it is, what season it is – it all becomes abstract as I'm under Southern stars on a night that feels like summer in Adelaide, Australia, then in Canadian snow soon after.
Did I also mention that it's been great? It has. We're in the middle of our first-ever Canadian tour right now. Yes, we've been here with Warped (which we are NOT playing this year, in response to many of your inquiries) and we've supported different bands on the coasts, such as Social Distortion and Rancid, but until the end of April, we'd never headlined a show on Canadian soil, and we'd never played in the middle of the country like we have the past few nights. I wish we'd done it long ago of course, but it is cool to still be experiencing new places after seven years on the road. I can't believe it's been that long, but it has – Tiger Army played our first show in March '96, but in June of 2001 we got in the van for the first time as a true touring band and nothing in my life has been the same since.
Back to Canada, back to tonite. I'm writing this as the van heads towards Winnipeg. Our friends The Unseen join us on this tour. We've been out with them a few times over the years, including part of our "Dark Romance" tour in 2005. Tonite was a night off that we spent at the movies. The weather seems like it's just getting decent. That's one reason it took us so long to get up here – you prettymuch don't want to be doing a van tour here before May or after September. If things were already happening in those months, and they always were, it was "let's do it next year." Too many "next years" have passed, but we're finally here. Many of the shows have sold out in advance, which is amazing for a place we've never properly toured and the crowds have been great at every show thus far. It wasn't so great when elements of the sound system including all the stage monitors quit working in Vancouver, but the audience made it all worthwhile. I like it up here – the landscapes are scenic, the people are friendly, life is a little more laid back than in the States, which isn't a bad thing. The long drives provide some time to think and some time to relax, which has been largely been missing lately. I'm a fan of Tim Horton's, Ketchup chips (not as weird as they sound, think french fries), and some other things that are unique to north of the border. Ok, they have Ketchup chips in the UK, but you catch my drift.
Once we finish with the East Coast of Canada, we'll dip down and start playing the East Coast of the United States. If you live on the East Coast, in the Midwest or anywhere we're playing on this May tour, you should definitely not wait to catch us, it will probably be quite some time before we're back. More on that in a bit.
I'm excited to play some of the best places in the States this month – not every city I'd like to go to, but definitely some good ones: New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, Salt Lake City, Detroit, Baltimore (first ever gig there, I think), Milwaukee… not in that order of course, but you get the idea. If you saw us on the "Razor's Kiss" tour last fall, we've added some different songs to the set (both old and new) and of course Geoff Kresge has rejoined the band since the last time we were in the Northeast or Midwest. Remember, our dates are always on our profile here, or you can check Tourdates at TigerArmy.com. It pains me to read messages like "Hey, you guys should come to Detroit!" when we ARE coming to Detroit, or "You guys should come play such and such city sometime!" when we JUST played such and such city and won't be back for quite awhile.
As we head towards June, it'll be a year since the latest album Music From Regions Beyond was released, and what a year it's been. What's next after this tour? Well, we're staying busy throughout the summer – in June we return to Las Vegas to play a burlesque event presented by MySpace at the Palms, we co-headline Hootenanny this July in Orange County, we'll be heading to Europe for a few festivals here & there, and yes, West Coasters, we will be returning for some shows in the fall. After that, it'll be time to relax after what will have been by then a year and a half of touring. I can already feel the creative juices bubbling and I can't wait to write the next music, which will happen towards the end of the year. We're not planning on returning east in the States until after a new album has been written and recorded (which will be sometime in 2009 if all goes well), so like I said, see us now if you have the chance!
Thanks so much to everyone who's seen us so far, and will see us this month. It's funny, now that I can at least picture my life being a little less hectic from constant touring, even though that won't really happen until the end of the year, I'm already starting to miss it! There's some exciting stuff happening this year that I can't tell you about yet, so don't be strangers. We'll see you soon on the road!
