Nov 13, 12:57 PM"Extended Play Live" By Mudcrutch Now Available!
Mudcrutch has released the live EP entitled "Extended Play Live" on Reprise Records as of November 11, 2008.
"Extended Play Live" features four tracks recorded during the band’s 2008 tour of intimate California venues. These were fantastic shows and the band really stretched out at times, particularly on extended versions of Crystal River. The epic April 28 version of Crystal River from the Troubadour is fifteen minutes long and is included on the EP, as well as choice live versions of The Wrong Thing To Do, Bootleg Flyer, and Jerry Lee Lewis’ High School Confidential.

"Extended Play Live" will be released digitally, on compact disc, and on 180 Gram High Performance Vinyl. The vinyl edition includes a full dynamic range audiophile CD made from the same uncompressed stereo masters as the vinyl pressing. Both the vinyl and the accompanying audiophile CD present the music without the noticeable “loudness” that befalls many mixes of songs intended to be listened to digitally. When presented in their full dynamic range the quieter parts of the songs are quieter and the louder parts are louder, just as originally performed.

For those of you who have not seen Runnin’ Down A Dream yet or are still interested in grabbing the DVD, Warner Bros. Records is releasing it again today, October 28, at all music DVD retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada. This release of the film is a stand-alone two disc set which includes all four hours of the documentary plus some really cool previously unreleased bonus performances.

Records will release cinema legend Peter Bogdanovich’s film Runnin’ Down A Dream: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers as a two-disc DVD, complete with added previously unreleased bonus performances, on October 28. Formerly sold as a four-disc package exclusively at Best Buy, this newly released two-disc package of the film will be available everywhere in the U.S. and Canada..
Premiered to unanimous praise at the 2007 New York Film Festival, Runnin’ Down A Dream brings Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers full circle, from their humble Gainesville, Florida beginnings to their emotional hometown 30th Anniversary concert. The film is a vivid account of a band that created a body of work considered one of the richest catalogs in American musical history.
Upon its original release in October 2007 the Houston Chronicle said Runnin' Down A Dream is “destined to be a classic” and the New York Daily News described the film as “a godsend for music lovers.” Rolling Stone called the film “rock and roll purity with poetic gravitas.”
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers had the #1 tour of the summer according to Rolling Stone, thrilling sold out audiences in 40 cities. Now fans can own the definitive Peter Bogdanovich film that chronicles their remarkable over thirty year career.
The two-disc set will contain the entire four-hour film plus three bonus performances.
