Nashville to host Southern Shindig rehabilitative ride for wounded warriorsOn September 25 and 26, Wounded Warrior Project's (WWP) Soldier Ride will visit Nashville, Tennessee. Soldier Ride, which debuted in 2004, is Wounded Warrior Project's rehabilitative cycling program for wounded warriors. The segmented rides raise public awareness for those that have been injured while fighting overseas. All participants are provided with the adaptive equipment they need to cycle regardless of their disabilities.
The festivities kick off on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. with a "Southern Shindig" music event at the Loveless Barn (www.lovelessbarn.com. Country music superstar Trace Adkins will perform a special acoustic set.

"Luke McBain" Is First Original Concept Comic Book Series By A Country Artist
Country music sensation TRACE ADKINS can now add action hero to his ongoing list of career accomplishments. In November, 12 Gauge Comics unleashes "LUKE MCBAIN," a four-issue comic book series featuring a tough Southern hero that is based on the platinum-selling country star.
Other music artists have been involved with the comic book scene including Gerald Way of My Chemical Romance and Tori Amos, but Adkins is the first country artist to be featured as a fictional character in a comic book project.
Writer David Tischman (Red Herring) created the idea with 12 Gauge publisher Keven Gardner, and they spent a lot of time with Adkins to make sure "MCBAIN" feels authentic.

On July 10, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" travels to Lancaster, Texas, to meet Carlton Marshall who lost most of his mobility and all of his hearing after being shot while leading a Dallas Police Department SWAT team. Carlton and his wife Susan, a homicide detective, will learn that their home will be rebuilt in seven days - solving rampant structural and accessibility issues and also enabling the Marshalls to continue their long-time volunteer work with a horseback riding therapy program for children and adults with mental and physical challenges.
Country Music sensation Trace Adkins will be the celebrity volunteer for this build.
