I thought Sky Blue Sky was great. What's with all the slack. It doesn't deserve to be compared to the Eagles at all.

Jay and Jeff did get along in the early days, back when Mike Heidorn was in the band. However, as Wilco's evolution has shown, Jeff's vision for the development of his musical career spread much wider than the country and folk-inflected punk and alternative of UT. I personally prefer Son Volt over Wilco, but there is no denying that Wilco is a great band. I will still buy every album by either of those bands. Anyways, there's no comparing all three bands. Tupelo had some wonderful elements that were lost to both spin-offs, and in some ways were better than Wilco at their best. It's too bad Jay and Jeff didn't get along, but I think that hidden conflict led to some of Uncle Tupelos best stuff.
