Uvenburd was formed in Hamilton Ontario in 2004. After putting out their first album, Cellar Door, they were quickly split apart as guitarist and singer Ben Caplan left the country to travel South America. Since then, Ben has remained on the move, shifting around Canada and the world. Uvenburd's other permanent member, Joe Girard, is based in Hamilton. Uvenburd is what happens when these two song writers unite. In these brief periods of unity, the two songwriters have managed to keep the music going, releasing their second album, Floodwatching: Live at the Pepper Jack Cafe in 2006. This album met critical success despite its low-fi quality, the excellent songs shine through, and the album is available for purchase on iTunes. Uvenburd is currently working on a new album to be called Departures/Arrivals including session work from the prolific Aaron Goldstein.
