Before becoming an R&B artist singer/songwriter and producer Valentin J were a football player and a rapper. Singing came natural for J.Valentin, born in Kinshasa who grew up in Johannesburg, Amsterdam, Paris, and Brussels. In 1999, he joined a rap group in Brussels; he was only 14 years old. After several twists and turns, radio broadcast, showcases and concerts…., Valentin J decided to go solo as an R&B artist. In 2003, His group went their own separate ways in order for each member to pursue solo careers. His long time idol is Michael Jackson, but he also loves Prince, Joe, Boyz II Men, Babyface, Bonjovi… because they influenced him to create his own music.
