Feb 03 2008, 07:09 AMNo it was because wagner was insane and thought that he was God's gift to mankind. I mean literally, he thought that God conceived him for the sole purpose of writing the music that he did, because no one else could do it. That being said, wagner had like 2 months of conservatory training, as opposed to other composers who had been trained all their lives, which makes wagner even more amazing (the crazy mo-fo).
