  • I Milked a Cow at a Watching Judas Concert.

One of the weirdest gigs Watching Judas has ever played was this show at a Barn a few days ago. I thought that it was just a name- it turned out to really be a barn.

We drove almost an hour out into the country, and pulled up to a farmhouse that had our name advertised out front. The barn that we were playing in actually had siliage on the floor, and the distinctive down-home-at-the-farm smell. Never believe all that marketing hype about "country-fresh" scent on the Lysol bottles. . . . : )

Once we got settled in, the show turned out to be one of the best we've done in awhile. The crowd was really rocking it- jumping up and down, making the dust from the dirt floor fill the air like a smoke machine. We left the venue sweaty and caked in dust, but smiling.

  • Scary Gig at Biker Bar...

So we were scheduled to play a show the other day at a venue in downtown St. Louis. It was also the first show we've ever cancelled. I don't have a single thing against downtown St. Louis, but when the venue's a bonified biker bar reeking of marijuana smoke, and the bands that you're playing with are too busy throwing rocks through the store windows across the street to talk to you, it might be clue that we might not want to do the show.

The club owner was pretty cool about it when we asked to bail out on it- I think he sensed we weren't the right kind of band, anyway. All the same, I was really nervous when I was asking him. It's always a bad move to argue with someone that has a snake tatooed on his forehead.  He's probably got a higher pain threshhold than you do.

It worked out alright in the end- we all headed back out to the suburbs and played Guitar Hero for most of the afternoon. It's nice to know that happy endings happen sometimes, even if it's not what you're expecting . . .  : )

  • Mini- Tour through Nothern Missouri and Illinois.

Coming up at the end of the month, we're setting off on a little tour up through the beautiful states of Illinois, and Northern Missouri ( I know it's not an official state, but it sure doe feel like it.)

Here's a thought- if you're reading this, and you're sitting in some quaint cottage along this route, and you're thinking, "Man, it'd be fun to have that famous band Watching Judas come play for my . . . ."  shoot me a myspace message! There's a really good chance that we might be able to come and play a show at your church/youth group/ biker bar on our way up or back. ( was kidding about the biker bar part.)

Right now we're playing shows in: Peoria (the 26th), Hannibal (the 31st), and Chillicothe (Nov. 8th)!

Stay tuned as we find out more about this tour . . . .
