  The Lightning EP now available in FLAC and DSD formats!!!

  Hey ya'll.  Anyone see the new Harry Potter yet?  We all did the midnight showing last night... we had mixed opinions overall but I think for the most part we enjoyed it.  So tough for these movies to live up to the books, right?? 
  
  Anyways, here's some business:
  
  So... you've heard about The Lightning EP right?  That new batch of songs we recorded?  That's available right now at wheatus.com for a price of your choosing???  INCLUDING FREE??
  
  Well, it's also available in a format of your choosing, and we've just added 2 more available formats.  You can still download the EP in MP3, Apple Lossless, and WMA Lossless... and now you can also download in very high quality FLAC and DSD.  The FLAC files are in 24bit/88.2Khz, and can be played on any computer with some basic third-party software.  The DSD files are another beast entirely, and they are the absolute highest recording quality currently available in the world.  We're thrilled to offer this special format to Playstation 3 users, who can burn the files onto a DVD and play them back through the console.  Owners of the handheld Korg MR-1 audio player can also listen back to the files.  If you don't own either of these devices, we apologize and hope that DSD support will continue to expand, as it is an infinitely superior listening experience.
  
  So all of those formats are currently available at Wheatus.com and all of them are FREE if you'd like.  If you'd like to donate, you can get bonus materials based on how much you donate.
  
  Thanks SO much to everyone who donated, especially those of you who spent $25 on the deluxe sets.  Those are being assembled now, and I'll let you know as soon as they ship.  We just want to take our time to make sure they're great and you get your money's worth.  Hope that's okay.

  We're recording EP #2 right now and it's going really really well.  We're taking a little summer vacation soon but we'll finish recording in the fall and hopefully it'll be in your digital hands soon after that.  Can't wait.

  Wheatus - The Lightning EP now available FREE at Wheatus.com

  

  Hi everyone!

   

  It is super exciting for us to tell you that our brand new collection of songs, The Lightning EP, is now available for you all to hear.  These six songs are Volume 1 of Pop, Songs & Death, a large collection of all new material we'll be gradually releasing over the next several weeks, months, and years.

   

  These songs are available now on Wheatus.com as part of a donation-based download system.  The tracks are free if you'd like them.  If you'd like to make us a small donation of $5, we'll give you a bonus download with brand new live recordings of Lemonade and Hometown.  And, if you're really enthusiastic, you can pre-order a limited edition CD/DVD set that comes with all sorts of other bonuses.  That set comes with any donation of $25 or more.

   

  Downloads are currently available in MP3, Apple Lossless and WMA Lossless formats.  Super high quality FLAC and ultra high quality DSD for PS3 downloads are coming soon, all part of the same donation structure.

  New Wheatus.com Merch Store

  Hey all...
  
  If you didn't see our last status update... we just started up a merch store at Wheatus.com.  It's run by us directly, which makes things cheaper and better for us and for you guys. 
  
  So if you go there right now, our current stock of t-shirts are all just $5 each + shipping!  And we'll ship anywhere in the world.  We've also got copies of Suck Fony (previously only available from us on tour) and two vinyl 7" singles of BMX Bandits and The London Sun.  Take a look around!

  Important Message Regarding Upcoming NYC Show!!!

  Hello everyone...
  
  There has been a great deal of confusion regarding where to get tickets for our upcoming Jan. 16th show at the Blender Theatre in NYC.  All tickets should be purchased at the following link: http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/400976/nbsp; Also, if you are in the area, physical tickets are also available for purchase at the Irving Plaza box office.
  
  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANYONE BE PAYING MORE THAN THE $15 FACE VALUE OF THIS TICKET!!!  Some people have, in their search for tickets, found websites selling tickets to this show for more than $160 each!  We are horrified by this and, again, PLEASE know that this show is NOT sold out and tickets are available for face value ($15 each) at the following address: http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/400976/nbsp; Tickets should also be available at the venue door the night of the show.  Do not be fooled by scalpers!!!
