William Smith is a singer-songwriter-guitarist based in Monmouth County, NJ, with two solo albums under his belt and a full-time gig teaching high school English. A semi-finalist in the Songs Inspired By Literature contest, his lyrics often incorporate literary references, and his inventive use of altered tunings helps to avoid the "strum and hum" syndrome of many folk artists. He can be seen and heard performing in all over NJ and PA.
Eric Shea of Listen.com wrote, "Intelligent folk songs ... these are well-arranged compositions. William Smith incorporates sporadic literary references in many of his songs, but not with any of the salient pretension found inside the songs of many coffee shop performers. His acoustic guitar is refreshing in its recorded warmth and naturally reverberating tones."
