Formed in March of 2003, this Memphis trio has successfully landed over 400 shows and a recording contract with Memphis Records. A common compliment given to these guys is that they sound like a four or five piece band. Since the late 90’s, Devan and Richard were a part of a popular local band called, The Superfive. Chris joined the same project in 2002 and created the final spark. Realizing their musical chemistry, they started their own band while keeping a focus on writing originals. “We have managed to avoid the 9 to 5 route and make this project our job”, explains Yanik. YNM shares a vision even though their musical influences slightly differ. Devan, the principal songwriter, grew up in a small Oklahoma town surrounded by country music with a healthy dose of Led Zeppelin and the Cult. "I loved the mysticism involved with Led Zeppelin and the Cult," says Yanik, while the old country music taught me how to be real. "I try to write songs that describe my journey through life. I am still trying to find out who I am." As a child, Richard idolized KISS and moved on to the "Hair Metal" phase, and then graduated to Pearl Jam and Radiohead. Gafford grew up influenced by the Beatles and moved on to more influence by the Beatles. When you put these three together, you get a real taste of melody and passion tightly packed in Rock music.
