This young duo hooked up in 2005 to create their first full length album, “The Beginning of the End”, and have been determined to break into the music scene ever since. They have released tons of songs and released six CDs thus far in their careers. Being that the two have always been their own writers, producers, and engineers, each project shows constant progression.
PJ aka Da Truth was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He quickly found his love for music at a very young age, and began rapping at the age of four. PJ constantly asserts immense amounts of energy and enjoys thinking "out of the box" when it comes to composing his lyrics. He is now very focused on not only writing and making beats, but the final production side of the music as well. He is far beyond his years and considered one of the best audio engineers among all of his peers, constantly looking for new ways to improve the quality of YD's sound.
Kidd Flow was born in Dayton, Ohio. He relocated to the Cincinnati area with is family in 2000. He soon began making music with friends at the age of 13. Being raised in a home full of musical talent, he was able to quickly find a style. His smooth, melodic sound has become a trademark, earning him his stage name, Kidd Flow. He is constantly coming up with new ideas and beats that give Young Duece a sound of their own. As well as maintaining their internet outlets, from web design to creating album covers. Flow's hobby helps tremendously.
According to the group, their biggest accomplishment to date was earning the right to be a TOP 10 FINALIST in the first ever Essence Magazine "Take Back the Music" national song writing competition in 2006, beating out more than 500 applicants. This accomplishment gave them the confidence to pursue music on a more serious note. Together these young men are undeniably talented. With much time to mature and progress, their futures shine extremely bright.
The boys are currently focusing on creating new material, from working with major label A&Rs to producing full length albums for other artists, as well as soundtracks for potential motion pictures. How far the entertainment industry will take them? Only time will tell.
