Zapp Royce often described as a rough diamond bought his saxophone when he was 24 years of age, he then spent the next year learning his scales practising up to five hours a day, he had messed around with guitar, drums & piano but never really seriously. sexy With the "Sade" sax/brass intertwined with the the smooth synth bass, synth keys and programmed drums, it had sexy written all over it... only with a modern twist. Ya had a nice DJ-scratch effect looped in there every 4 bars or so.
Great use of reverb on the brass, too. Too many people over-do it with reverb to the point of making shit sound like a demo. This had pro written all over it.
The song naturally "grew" as it reached its end, adding more "laser" effects and whatnot to the mix..
At 7:14, it was a little long, but didnt seem it, which means you kept my interest peaked..
