two music-lovin' school teaching brothers (scott & patrick walker) finally broke the piggybank and purchased a couple tascam 4-track analog recorders to start laying down the many songs that "pop" into their little heads at the weirdest hours of the day and night. on their third album, "sprout", they pulled in long-time friend rick nagle to put beats to a few of their tunes. he made the cut, and is now a full-fledged member. the name, champion hairpuller, was granted by the irrefutable "champion" of songwriting, robert pollard of the seminal lo-fi band guided by voices. we wear it well, and try not to disappoint. when and if you cue up our tunes, please keep in mind these are all recorded on a cheap analog 4-track, so the pureness of sound you may be used to with digital will not be there. however, the warmth and hiss of tape that we find so engaging, lends to our music a very fragile and imperfect human quality that we adore--and can afford. contact us by leaving a message on this site. OUR NEXT RECORD, and our first true attempt at recording in med-fi, "FINDING OUR RHYTHM" IS OUT NOW! check out the 5 new tunes up now!
