i started deadbugs as an outlet for songs my 3 piece band couldn't really do live. after the band dissolved, i realized that what i love the most is just making and recording music...the process and the step by step building of a song when one works alone. i've always felt that honesty is the most important thing for me as a writer and a listener. i can't fake an emotion for a song, and the strongest emotions for me are those associated with lost loved ones, memories of long ago days/childhood, and the realization that nothing lasts forever. my greatest challenge is to translate the joy my children bring me into song...i have found that happiness (and i am not without it!!)is the hardest thing for me to convey through music.
