Dubcore has it’s origins as an industrial side project of guitarist/vocalist Matthew James, who was playing bass in a mainstream rock band and started making electronic music on the side. Slowly his attention turned to dubcore exclusively. After leaving his previous band in January 2004 he decided to make dubcore his full time project and long time friend Adam England joined the band on keyboards & vocals. Drawing influence from all genres, they set about to fuse together all parts of post industrial rocks long history. With diverse influences from modern hard rock like The Deftones & Tool, classic synthpop like Depeche Mode & Gary Numan, industrial/EBM/futurepop groups like Apoptygma Berzerk, Zeromancer, & KMFDM, & the edgier end of commercial pop like N.E.R.D. they set about creating a melting pot of their influences. Unfortunately the search for a third member was slow going, not wanting to be derailed by such a thing dubcore plowed ahead with the recording of Replicate / Amplify anyway. Produced by Reckon With One guitarist Mark Kopernicky and dubcore, the EP showcases five songs that are guitar driven yet accessible and incredible diverse. Topped of by the stellar vocals of Spankdriven drummer Monica Julie, the EP was released in March of 2005. Right now work is already well underway on the next release from dubcore. Replicate / Amplify is just the beginning… The next one is where the story really starts.
