After a successful two year stint in Tallahassee, Florida, Becoming Wheels began battling with the changes of being a small fish in a big pond when they moved to Atlanta, Georgia. So with some original members departing and a new one arriving, the transition to a new state proved to be even more of a trial. Now that the band calls Atlanta home, they are meeting the challenge head-on. Not only are they bringing their music to new audiences and cities, but they are continuing to distinguish their sound by incorporating a style all their own. Brian Pieniasek, Ryan Biegel, and Justin Horne welcomed bassist Kevin Snodgrass with open arms and furiously began writing and rehearsing new material to showcase their new sound. They currently plan to head back into the recording studio later this fall. Fusing elements of pop, rock, and soul while drawing heavily on British influences, Becoming Wheels has created a ballad-esque style fueled by passionate vocals, eclectic guitars, and driving beats. While their first album “Dance Around a Thousand Things” primarily focused on acoustic elements, their second album “The Departure” displayed more of a precise style of songwriting characterized by their affinity for the limits of what a song can encompass. From their exhilarating birth in North Florida, to their new growth in Atlanta, Becoming Wheels has definitely developed a voice of their own. Looking forward to a promising future, the band is eager to share their music with the rest of the world.
