The Johnson Party is a music collective that spans the continental United States, but is based in Atlanta, Georgia. It has formed to find and bring forth a diverse collection of american and world music. The group is an amorphous crew playing rock, reggae, hip-hop, country, bluegrass, among other genres. Members hail from the West, Southern States and Senegal. EJ, founder of The Johnson Party, brings a Northern California vibe to the group and has lived and played music in San Francisco, Jackson Hole, Napa, and currently resides in Atlanta, GA. Experiences in vast wilderness, megapolises, country towns, and the universal trials and tribulations of life have all carved their way into the songs brought to the Johnson Party. In addition to their own original works, the Johnson Party is on a mission to collect and celebrate the great songs of so many unsung musicians that can be found along the musical journey. Their current recording project, Random Rooms, is an collaborative effort with many guest musicians, being recorded on a lightweight mobile studio in random apartments, houses, gymnasiums, etc... as the moment provides.
