    I would give my kingdom for a recording of Giant Sand, New years eve 2001, at the Empty Bottle in Chicago. Coolest thing I have ever seen.

    I've been following Giant Sand ever since I found a cassette of Valley of Rain in a bin at Walgreens many many years ago. It's been fascinating to watch Howe and friends change, grow, assimilate and become a band that is, I think, making the most truly 'American' music of any one out there. Just listen to 'Sno Angel Like You if you doubt it.
