mcArtney is a singer/songwriter, lets get that straight. The idea of painting with music is something mcArtney applies to his songwriting, encouraging listeners to follow the images and emotions he is provoking. ‘volume one’ creates the images over 5 intricate and poignant tracks, marking the beginning of mcArtney’s solo journey. The song ‘at least now I think I know’ features Gabrielle Huber from upcoming Australian Alt-country outfit ‘Dead Letter Chorus’.

These ideas were created in the depths of mcArtney’s home, where he spent hours laboring over his Apple Macbook, producing and recording this intricate piece of art. He then handed the reigns to his friend Sean Carey (Thirsty Merc), who stepped in for mixing, then to renowned mastering engineer Kathy Naunton (Missy Higgins, the Dissociatives) to finish off the job.

mcArtney is a fresh-faced, breakthrough act – Although, he has spent much time discovering and learning about music. Having performed in numerous and various acts since 1999, mcArtney, has played rock, pop, jazz, funk and even in musicals, playing multiple instruments and touring relentlessly. Nevertheless, always working on his songwriting, arranging and producing skills.
